What is rural policy today? A pan-Canadian scan of policies for rural places
Please join us for the launch of a new Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation report—What is rural policy today? A pan-Canadian scan of policies for rural places—Wednesday, May 18th from 3-4 EDT. This report shares a content analysis of provincial and territorial strategies, plans and programmes across a number of thematic areas—from economic development to natural resources, agriculture and transportation. It offers a bird’s eye view of how Canadian provinces and territories are tackling rural issues and including rural communities across diverse programmes, strategies and plans.
The report authors, Dr. Tamara Krawchenko (University of Victoria), Brooke Hayes (UVic), Sean Markey (SFU), and Karen Foster (Dalhousie University), will share the report’s six key findings and will be joined by Dr. Sarah Breem (Selkrik College) and Dr. Bill Reimer as discussants. The full report can be found at this link.
The Zoom invite and registration link can be found here. Please note that attendees should register in advance.
We hope you can join!
